You probably have seen this somewhere on The Holistic Essentials (THE) website and it is exactly how it all started.

I find it hard to share the story behind this brand without it being connected to me because it all started from my personal love for scents. I was a perfume 'addict' -not really one, but just behave like one. I would spray perfume on myself wrist or clothes and smell them as if they are my drugs.

I knew about essential oils prior and in 2017, I finally gave in and dive into the world of essential oils because I decided that I want to breathe in 'cleaner' stuff rather than just chemicals and fragrances.

At that time, I started using oils from a big reputable brand even though the prices are rather high. But I really wanted quality oils so I stick to it loyally. Then I started using for my clients and my work - including making blends and all for them.

But feedback is always that the oils are too expensive.

I slowly began my search for quality and affordable sources. And for a few years, I would buy and use the oils myself. And after much research and trying, I decided on Plant Therapy. (Read more on it here)

There are many ingredients involved in different products and most are ready retail items (though it brings up the cost of production) because many industrial/commercial items do not state their source and ingredients as transparent as retail brands.

Intentionally curated. 

I started blending for myself and my clients for different reasons so my blends have always been function > scent. When I started THE, I wanted the curations to be very specific for certain intentions. I wanted them to be more therapeutic/beneficial than just focusing on how nice it smells and how well the scent of the oils blend together.

There is also the idea that less is more. I do not add in unnecessary ingredients just for aesthetic/feel good purpose (eg. colouring, foaming agent, etc) even if they are natural. The idea is, the more ingredients put into something, it increases the probability of unsuitability for some people.

All the items are curated to focus on its function and benefits.

As all products are natural, they are hand poured in small batches/upon order to maintain quality and freshness.

We only offer what our loved ones and ourselves use.

I have been using handmade items for myself (and clients) since 2017. And this is another important stand for me. If I am not willing to use that item on myself, my loved ones - including my dog, then the item will not be here. ALL the items here are actually curated for myself and/or loved ones/friends/clients.

ABOUT ME

My name is Ting and I think it is great you can put a human behind these instead of just a 'business' 'shop' or 'brand'.

Besides this, I do have a few other things happening..

• Energy and healing work - Akashic Records, Channeling, Reiki, etc
• Animal communication and Reiki

It is the ebb and flow of my energy and my neurodivergent mind that I flow into doing different things accordingly. There are also moments that I need down time and doing what I do at THE offer me the solace during it. Therefore, I decided to make THE 'official' now.

I did have the Instagram account and domain created for about 1 - 2 years and items and bulk orders have been made offline and through e-commerce/marketplace platform etc. Finally my energy flow into wanting to make this website and consolidating all the items I have curated.. and still curating.
